Victoria Wiet is a public humanities-focused educator, writer, and early career archives professional dedicated to preserving the history of the performing arts and bringing awareness to its intersections with visual culture and social history, particularly women’s and LGBT history. A current MSLIS student in Archives Management at Simmons University, she received her PhD from Columbia University in 2019 and taught for one year as a Lecturer in History & Literature at Harvard University and five years as an assistant professor of English and Film Studies at DePauw University. As part of her MSLIS coursework, she has created an online resource that collates significant collections of the various formats which document the performing arts, available here. She invites information & museum professionals and scholars to reach out to her with suggestions for further collections to index. She also writes about the intersections between documentation and the performing arts (among other topics) on Substack at Ephemerance.
